Bob Courtney is Director of the Kauai office of VR Mergers & Acquisitions, serving the entire island of Kauai. At VR, Bob leverages his extensive business experience to help Kauai business owners improve their profitability and sustainability, better positioning the companies for sale. He helps business owners achieve their retirement dreams and entrepreneurs from around the world find quality businesses in the paradise of Kauai.

Before joining VR, Bob owned and operated two successful businesses over the course of three decades. Bob's professional career has led him to specialize in business strategies that increase bottom line growth and sustainability for private and publicly held companies.

In 1980, he grew a small start up cable television company into a publicly traded corporation in just over one year. Inventory control, production processes, time management and cash flow analysis has been his focus for over twenty-seven years. Bob knows the importance of customer service and employee satisfaction and how these issues affect a company's bottom line. He has trained companies' management personnel, in-house and publicly, on methods to enhance their bottom-line results by using enhanced people skills.

In 1996, Bob began his first of two four-year terms as a County Commissioner. (Five years he served as Chairman.) This time enabled him to better understand the effect government has on business thru tax and planning policies.

Bob served as a certified Dale Carnegie Course Instructor for 26 years. He has been active in civic clubs and business chambers throughout his business career. He has served as Chairman of charter initiatives for Regional Economic Development and Workforce Development consortiums.

After vacationing in Kauai for over twelve years, Bob and his wife Carol now call "The Garden Isle" their home. Their three daughters all graduated from college and are now in the process of starting their families. Bob received his B.B.A. from Washburn University.
