Profile

Rosalyn Caltrider is a Director with the Maui office of VR Mergers & Acquisitions. She brings a diverse background to VR, with experience in Law, Business Development and Real Estate Development.

Prior to joining VR, Rosalyn began her career as an attorney in a general practice law firm, Johnston, Turner & Henritze. After leaving the firm, she spent fourteen years with Norfolk Southern Corporation, a multi-billion dollar transportation company. Starting with the company as an attorney handling all aspects of real estate transactions, she quickly discovered that her passion was negotiating the deals rather than documenting them. Switching to the business side of real estate as the Manager of Business Development, she was then promoted to the position of Director of Real Estate Development.

With this position, Rosalyn became responsible for the development of non-operational company properties, over an area covering most of the eastern half of the United States. The position included creating non-traditional income streams from underutilized properties, as well as P&L responsibility for 16 joint ventures valued at $400 million and comprised of office buildings, shopping centers, warehouses and vacant land.

Her most challenging and rewarding deal was coordinating the successful effort to secure the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office's award for 2,000,000 square feet of office space. Several years after initiating the endeavor, an old Norfolk Southern rail yard in Alexandria, Virginia became the PTO's new home. Her background places her in the optimal position of understanding the complexities of developing, selling and buying a business.

Rosalyn received her Juris Doctorate degree from Emory University Law School, attended the Advanced Management Program at Duke University, and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgia State University. She is a member of the Georgia Bar and the American Bar Association. As an active volunteer within her community, she is especially proud to be a member of the Board of Directors of The Friends of The Children's Justice Center.
